Talents
Talents are in abundance among today’s youth. There are many avenues the world over to express these talents. But unfortunately a majority of the youth is brimming with over confidence and tends to get carried away. They do not realize that life is a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs.

The most important thing that talented children should keep in mind is, that they should choose a
path to follow and should never deviate from the chosen path. Each child is a talented individual and from a very young age it is the duty of every child to discover his or her own strengths and weaknesses.

Once a child realizes his strength, it is his duty to make his parents and teachers realize where his
talent lies. In such a case the school can play a major role in channelizing his talents in a positive manner and bring out the best in him. So, let me remind each one of you my little friends to go into yourselves and find out where God given talent lies. Use this talent in a positive manner and reach the zenith of your possible achievements.

To the parent community, let me tell you all that it is important to see the strengths your children have instead of trying to mould them into the images that you have in your mind. It is the parents who have to carefully observe the latent talents in their children. It would be appropriate from the parents’ side to look into the mind of a child rather than the school doing it since the children speak their minds to the parents. It is the duty of the parents to assist the school in order to expedite the process in this fast moving world and not just rely on the school to recognize the talents in their children.

At the school, it is the responsibility of the teachers and all the staff to help the students develop their skills fully. Once the latent skills of the children are discovered they should be holistically nurtured. A good foundation of essential and positive values have to be inculcated in the children so that, they will never deviate from their future glory.

Take for example the determination of a talented person like Sachin Tendulkar. He never deviated from his objective and never got carried away with the laurels that came to him. Perhaps that is the reason we will not see anybody like Sachin Tendulkar for years to come.

There is an appropriate timing for everything that you do in your life. Let us learn to take control of our life in a manner that matches our level of maturity and thus achieve the most out of our lives.
